Industrial vacancies continue at the lowest levels in over a decade.  Meanwhile, leaders search for additional cost savings in the supply chain.  Because of this, vertical development may soon become a consideration in your industrial real estate market.  In many areas of the country DC managers turn to solutions such as voice technology to gain productivity in place of expansion or relocation.  Chicago is no exception.  They are in competition with the other 237 proposals Amazon received last October to become the new home for the Amazon HQ2.  And Chicago has already seen Amazon scoop up five of the area’s thirteen largest leases signed in the 12-month period ending July 2017.
